Aldec Riviera-PRO 2014.06 x86

Riviera is a state-of-the-art software for evaluating and simulating FPGA and ASIC chips and SoC devices. The program extends advanced HDL simulation capabilities and supports the most advanced evaluation methodologies such as functional overlay, OVM, UVM, hardware acceleration and prototype. Riviera is a new generation of engineering tools that was previously released as Riviera-Classic and is now available in both 32- and 64-bit versions. Featuring an efficient simulator engine, advanced debugging capabilities at various abstract levels and support for the latest hardware description languages and standard evaluation libraries, it provides complete automation for the design, modeling and simulation of these chips.
Single Core vs. Dual or Multi CoreRiviera-PRO is a multithreaded application, thus picking up a multi-core CPU is better than a single-core one.
The effect of multi-core CPU utilization would be most evident in interactive work with Riviera-PRO’s GUI while the simulation is running (the simulation will occupy one core processor while the GUI operations will run on the other).
In addition the VHDL compiler takes advantage of multi-core CPUs to reduce compilation time.
Even if you don’t browse the waveform or edit your code while your simulation is running, having a multi-core CPU will make your other applications more responsive while running a simulation in the background.
Frequency and CPU Cache sizeTypically the approach here is the more the better.
Note that a larger CPU cache has a positive impact on performance.
CPU architecture – 32 vs. 64 bitThe CPU architecture only matters if Riviera-PRO needs to allocate several gigabytes of RAM to run your design.
64 bit architecture enables 4GB of RAM even for 32 bit applications (like Riviera-PRO on Windows)
32 bit architecture is limited to 2GB on Windows and Linux which can optionally be increased to 3GB. So, if your design simulation does not require more than 2GB of RAM then feel free to select any CPU architecture.
Graphical cardNo special recommendations here but the faster the card the more responsive GUI operations such as Waveform will be (in case of scrolling through large files, zooming, etc.).
RAM size32 bit OS recommends at least 3GB of RAM.
On 64 bit OS we recommend 4GB or more.
Note that these recommendations are considered for running one simulation in Riviera-PRO on the machine at a time. If you plan to run more than one simulation at a time multiply the above numbers accordingly.
32 bit OS vs. 64 bit OSThe same recommendations apply for selecting the CPU architecture
Read the Readme.txt file in the Crack folder.
The 2014 64-bit version wasn’t able to be executed due to the problem with the crack and removed. Use the 32-bit version.
Note: The software does not run in virtual environments.
The 2014 32-bit version has been installed and successfully activated on September 1, 2022 in Windows 11 64-bit.
